Energy Performance Certificate
We would be pleased to arrange your Energy Performance Certificate if you do not already have one (remember they have a 10 year life if there have been no alterations)
Our costs for a basic inspection are competitively priced. We are able to offer floor plans and 3D drawings at an additional cost. Once completed, we will forward the certificate to you and should you wish it to be sent to an agent we will be pleased to arrange this for you.
What is an Energy Performance Certificate?
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) tell you how energy efficient a house is on a scale of A-G. The most efficient houses – which should have the lowest fuel bills – are in band A. The Certificate also explains on a scale of A-G, the impact the home has on the environment. Better-rated homes should have less impact through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The average home in the UK is in bands D-E for both ratings. The Certificate includes recommendations on ways to improve the energy efficiency to save money and help the environment.
What does an assessment for an EPC involve?
An accredited energy assessor will need to physically inspect the house and collect information. This will include external or internal measurements, details about the construction and the type of heating/ hot water used in the house. The assessor will need to access all the rooms in the house as well as the boiler and loft. They will also need to take photographs of items such as heaters and meters.
